Retail Distribution Services & Big-Box Fulfillment

Services for Big-Box Retail Success

Getting your product onto the shelf at Walmart, Home Depot, or Lowe’s takes more than storage space. You need an expert retail distributor that knows the rules of every retail distribution channel and follows them without surprises.

At DPWagner, we provide retail distribution services for manufacturers and brands selling into the biggest US retailers, from Menards and Ace Hardware to Do It Best and True Value. We are way more than just a warehouse. In us, you will find a big-box fulfillment partner that moves your product from our dock to the retailer’s shelf, compliantly and on time.

What Retail Distribution Services Actually Cover

Retail distribution is the full journey your product takes from your manufacturing facility to our warehouse to the retailer that sells it. It includes receiving and storage, retailer compliance, order fulfillment, plus the freight coordination that ties it all together.

Some brands ship straight to a retailer’s distribution center, others ship direct to individual stores, and many now sell through retailer eCommerce platforms as well. DPWagner works across all the major retail distribution channels in the USA, so you can reach buyers whichever way they order.

Retail Distribution Solutions & Big-Box Fulfillment Procedures

Our retail distribution solutions bring every step under one roof, so nothing falls through the gaps between separate vendors:

  • Receiving, storage, and pallet in, pallet out handling
  • Case picking and retailer-compliant pallet building
  • Direct-to-store and direct-to-distribution-center shipping, plus buy online, ship to store
  • B2B eCommerce fulfillment through HomeDepot.com, Lowes.com, and Walmart.com, plus Amazon FBA and Walmart Fulfillment Services
  • Kitting, display building and design, repackaging, and packaging sourcing
  • Returns support, light disassembly, and relisting as part of a broader fulfillment relationship

Whether you move a few pallets a month or thousands of cases across a season, we build the workflow around your product and your retailers. We handle the compliant pallet building, routing portals, and labeling that keep chargebacks off your account, while we pick, pack, and ship every order out the door accurately and on time.

Retail Distribution Strategies We Support

Every brand runs a different play. Intensive distribution puts your product in as many stores as possible. Selective distribution focuses on a chosen set of retailers. Exclusive distribution keeps it to one. DPWagner supports all of these strategies, along with the omnichannel mix most brands run today, where store shelves and online orders pull from the same inventory.

What sets us apart is flexibility under pressure. When a cleaning chemicals brand needed to hit a Home Depot store-set date despite a manufacturing delay, we coordinated a mix of direct-to-store and distribution center shipments, managed the retailer routing portals, and worked with the drivers to make the window. That’s the kind of retailer-specific handling that keeps you on the shelf.

Our Retail Distribution Centers & US Network

Atlanta is our core operation: a 165,000 square foot facility with roughly 100,000 square feet dedicated to third-party logistics, 34 dock doors, drop-trailer capacity, and pallet racking. We sit near an intermodal terminal and about 3.5 hours from the Port of Savannah, which keeps inbound imports and outbound retail freight moving smoothly.

When a brand needs more reach, we can extend capacity through strategic partners, including partner space in Phoenix, Arizona and up to roughly 500,000 square feet available in the Midwest around the Chicago metropolitan area. These partner sites give you flexibility across the country, while Atlanta stays the operation we control end to end.

Retail Distribution Software & Retailer Integrations

Clean data keeps retail fulfillment compliant, so our retail distribution software connects directly to the platforms your retailers use. We run Acumatica as our ERP, integrate through SPS Commerce, and are EDI and API ready for all major retailer platforms. Most integrations go live in about 4 weeks, though we usually quote 6 to be safe.

You also get a client portal with real-time visibility into quantity on hand, committed quantity, incoming purchase orders, and shipping status. Our goal is simple: on time, in full, every time. And if you are switching from another logistics partner, we map the whole move before you commit.

Why Brands Choose Us As Their Retail Distributor

Plenty of warehouses can store your product. Few can act as a true retail distributor and full-service 3PL partner. Here is what makes us different:

We live and breathe retail compliance

DPWagner ships its own brands into the same stores as our clients, so when a retailer changes its labeling or routing rules, we apply the update right away, not months later.

We are Hazmat Level 2 capable

We handle household cleaning chemicals and abrasive products, including leaks and repacking, which is rare to find paired with real retail fulfillment.

We can help open the door

Through our retail sales relationships, we hold buyer connections and vendor numbers that can help certain brands get into retailers like Walmart, Sam’s Club, Home Depot, Lowe’s, and Menards.

We support international manufacturers

For overseas brands without a US entity, we bridge the gap into US retail. With our virtual distribution model, we take inventory at import and sell it through to the retailer.

FAQ

What is retail distribution?

Retail distribution is the process of moving a product from the manufacturer (through a retail distribution channel) to the retailer that sells it to shoppers. It spans warehousing, compliance, order fulfillment, and freight. DPWagner manages that full path for brands selling into major US retailers.

Which retail distribution channels in the USA does DPWagner serve?

We ship direct-to-store, direct-to-distribution-center, and through retailer eCommerce platforms such as HomeDepot.com, Lowes.com, and Walmart.com, plus Amazon FBA and Walmart Fulfillment Services. That covers the retail distribution channels most brands rely on.

Do you work with international manufacturers?

Yes. We help overseas brands reach US shelves even without a US entity, insurance, or existing retailer relationships. In some cases, we act as their US distribution partner, taking inventory at import and selling it through to the retailer.

What products are not a good fit?

We are built for B2B retail fulfillment, not high-speed direct-to-consumer. Our facility is ambient, so we do not handle human food, pet food, frozen products, or cold-chain products.

Which retail distribution strategy should my brand use?

It depends on your product, price point, and target retailers. Intensive distribution suits everyday items you want on as many shelves as possible, selective distribution works for a focused set of retailers, while exclusive distribution fits premium or single-retailer launches. DPWagner supports all of these retail distribution strategies and shapes fulfillment around the one that fits your goals.
